Built in 1908 this 2/3 bedroom colonial is nestled in between the
mansions of historic Deer Hill and the newer mansions on Oheyhatah
Place. The Presidential streets were the homes to the middle managers
of that hat factories which populated Danbury in the early 1900's. As
such. the homes are modest middle class homes, but built solid. The
location is perfect for those who want to balance city life, country
life and suburbia as Jefferson Ave is less than a mile to CityCenter,
about a mile to the Danbury Mall (one of the largest in New England) and
within walking distance to Tarrywile Park.

At
the north end of Jefferson Avenue, perhaps .2 miles from the house, is
West Wooster Street which meets with Division Street to form Wooster
Square. The mainstay of Wooster Square is the popular Sesame Seed
restaurant

which is both affordable and delicious. Other businesses include the
Victorian Room hair salon, Castle Grocery, China King Chinese take out,
Corner of the World, and Division Street package store. Citizens Fire
Company is located next to the brook on Jefferson Ave.

At the south end of Jefferson Avenue,
about .4 miles away, is Southern Blvd, which offers easy access to
Bethel and the south end of Danbury as well as Rt 7 and Ridgefield.
Just behind Southern Blvd is Tarrywile Park, one of the largest "urban"
parks in the Northeast. You will immediately feel like you're in the
country once you pass Tarrywile's historic mansion and barn. The park
is great for hiking, fishing, mountain biking and you will even see
horseback riding. For more info on the park

Also within walking distance are two schools -
Immaculate High School and Park Avenue Elementary. Rogers Park Middle
School is a bit further away, but within a mile or so.
Lastly, dog lovers and exercise fanatics love this street as you see folks jogging or walking their dogs all day long.
Neighbors surrounding the house are warm, friendly and quiet. 51 Jefferson is owned by a project coordinator who works in the city and a full time mom with two kids, ages 5&8 roughly. 55 Jefferson is owned by Bio Engineer who works in the White Plains area and an owner of a factory/business in Waterbury. 57 Jefferson has three teens, and are an educator and a city worker. Across the street in the green, white and gray houses are retirees, and a painter lives in the pink house. Not sure what occupants the yellow house do for a living. There is usually a summer street party at a house down the street further and a pumpkin carving party, though we missed both last year. Its a great neighborhood and we're sad to have to move on.
